Summary

A mother and her son migrated to the United States of America for a better life but they ended up with imbalance in work and life. Both of them did not enjoy their new life as they had to live separately from each other and away from the rest of the family members. As the mother is not well-educated and unable to speak English, she doesn’t have a good job and meet with many difficulties in the work place. Since she can’t take her son with her to the workplace, she left her son with another Myanmar family residing in a different state. The son is only four years old and he was, one time, left outside of the house when it was heavily snowing. He often accidentally broke house items while he was playing, thus causing problems with the caretaker family. Then, one day, the mother and the son reunited with the help of their friends who used to stay in the same refugee camp with them in Thailand. Now both of them are together and their grief is reduced. However, they are still facing the lack of work-life balance as they cannot go back home to Myanmar to be with the rest of the family.

အေမရိကန္ႏိုင္ငံသို့ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံ အေျခစိုက္ ဒုကၡသည္စခန္းမွ တဆင့္ ေရႊ့ေျပာင္းေနထိုင္သြားတဲ့ သားအမိ ႏွစ္ေယာက္ရဲ့ အလုပ္ႏွင့္ဘဝ ထပ္တူမွ်တမွု မရွိျခင္းကို ၾကံဳဆံု ခံစားခဲ့ရတဲ့ ဥပမာေလးကို ေလ့လာၾကည့္ၾကရေအာင္။ အေမရိကန္ႏိုင္ငံသို့ ေရာက္ခါစမွာ သားအမိ ႏွစ္ေယာက္ တကြဲတျပားစီ ေနထိုင္ၾကရျပီး ဘဝအတြက္၊ စားဝတ္ေနေရးအတြက္ ၾကိဳးစားရာမွာ ဘယ္လို အခက္အခဲေတြ ရွိခဲ့သလဲ။ သားအမိ ႏွစ္ေယာက္ ခြဲခြာျပီး ဘယ္လို ခံစားခဲ့ရသလဲ။

အသက္ ၃၅ ႏွစ္ခန့္ အေမနဲ့ အသက္ ေလးႏွစ္ခန့္ ကေလးတို့ဟာ ၂၀၀၈ ခုႏွစ္မွာ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံအေျခစိုက္ ဒုကၡသည္စခန္းမွ အေမရိကန္ႏိုင္ငံသို့ ေျပာင္းေရႊ့သြားခဲ့တယ္။ ျပီးေတ့ာ ပညာလည္း မတတ္၊ အဂၤလိပ္စကားလည္း မတတ္တဲ့ အေမအဖို့ အေမရိကန္လို ႏိုင္ငံမ်ိဳးမွာ အလုပ္ရရန္ အလြန္ခက္ခဲခဲ့ပါတယ္။ ေရာက္ေရာက္ခ်င္းမွာေတ့ာ သားအမိႏွစ္ေယာက္ မ်က္စိသူငယ္၊ နားသူငယ္ျဖင့္ သူမ်ားအိမ္မွာ အႏွိမ္ခံျပီး ေနခဲ့ၾကရတယ္။ အျခားမိသားစုဝင္ေတြျဖစ္ၾကတဲ့ သူ့ရဲ့ မိခင္၊ ေမာင္ႏွမ၊ တူ၊ တူမေတြနဲ့ ခြဲခြာျပီး အေမရိကန္ႏိုင္ငံမွာ အဆက္အသြယ္ အတန္ၾကာ ျပတ္ေတာက္ျပီး ရုန္းကန္ခဲ့ရတယ္။ အိမ္ငွါးခ ေစ်းၾကီးတဲ့အတြက္ ကိုယ္တိုင္ ငွါးေနရန္အတြက္ အခက္အခဲရွိခဲ့တယ္။

ေနာက္ပိုင္းေတ့ာ အလုပ္ကို သူမရဲ့ သားေလးကို ေခၚခြင့္မရခဲ့သျဖင့္ သူမရဲ့ သားေလးကို သူမရဲ့ အသိဆီမွာ ထားခဲ့ျပီး တျခားျပည္နယ္မွာ အလုပ္ဝင္ခဲ့၇တယ္။ ကေလးက ေဆာ့တတ္တဲ့ အရြယ္ဆိုေတ့ာ သူမ်ားပစၥည္းေတြ ဖ်က္ဆီးမိသလို ျဖစ္ခဲ့ရင္ ႏွင္းေတာထဲမွာ အျပစ္ေပးတာ ခံခဲ့ရတယ္။ တစ္ဖက္မွာလည္း အေမျဖစ္သူက ပညာမတတ္တဲ့ အတြက္ေၾကာင့္ အလုပ္လုပ္ရာမွာ အခက္အခဲေတြရွိခဲ့တယ္။ သူတစ္ပါးႏွင့္ ႏိွုင္းယွဥ္လွ်င္ လစာနည္းျခင္း၊ အလုပ္တြင္ အႏွိမ္ခံရျခင္း ႏွင့္ အစစအရာရာ ေစ်းၾကီးတဲ့ ႏိုင္ငံျဖစ္ေသာေၾကာင့္ စားဝတ္ေနေရး ၾကပ္တည္းျခင္းမ်ား ႏွင့္ ၾကံဳေတြ့ခဲ့ရတယ္။ ကေလးကလည္း သူတစ္ပါး သူစိမ္းႏွင့္ ေနရတဲ့အတြက္ေၾကာင့္ စိတ္ဓာတ္က်ျခင္း၊ မေပ်ာ္ရႊင္ျခင္း တို့ျဖင့္ ၾကံဳေတြ့ခဲ့ရတယ္။

ေနာက္ပိုင္းေတ့ာ ထိုင္းႏိုင္ငံ ဒုကၡသည္စခန္းမွာ အတူတူေနခဲ့တဲ့ ျမန္မာလူမ်ိဳးသူငယ္ခ်င္းေတြနဲ့ ျပန္ဆံုခဲ့ၾကျပီး ၄င္းတို့ရဲ့ အလုပ္ႏွင့္ ဘဝ မွ်တစြာ ေနထိုင္ဖို့ရာ သူငယ္ခ်င္းေတြက ကူညီခဲ့ၾကပါတယ္။ ကေလးကိုလည္း ေစာင့္ေရွာက္ျပီး သူမအတြက္ အလုပ္လည္း ရွာေဖြေပးကာ ကူညီေစာင့္ေရွာက္ခဲ့ပါတယ္။ သို့ေသာ္ ပညာမတတ္ေသာ သူမအဖို့ လစာေကာင္းတဲ့ အလုပ္ကို မရဘဲ သာမန္ အေျခခံအလုပ္သမားအျဖစ္ အလုပ္လုပ္ရင္း အိမ္ျပန္ႏိုင္ရန္အတြက္ လံုေလာက္တဲ့ ပိုက္ဆံကို မရွိတဲ့အတြက္ မိသားစုမ်ားႏွင့္ မေတြ့ဆံုႏိုင္ေသးဘဲ အေမရိကန္ႏိုင္ငံတြင္သာ ဘဝအတြက္ ဆက္လက္ ရုန္းကန္ေနဆဲျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
